Oncology Pharmacist – Spire Leicester Hospital, Oadby, Leicester – Full Time.
Spire Leicester Hospital is seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to lead and develop our specialist oncology pharmacy service.
Main duties
* Lead and deliver a specialist oncology pharmacy service across the hospital
* Provide expert clinical advice to consultants, clinicians, and patients
* Ensure the safe, compliant, and cost-effective use of medicines
* Support and influence evidence‑based clinical decision making
* Oversee and optimise chemotherapy services and medication processes
* Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
* Drive service development, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives
* Contribute to the commercial and strategic growth of oncology services
* Deliver and evaluate high‑quality pharmaceutical care for complex patients
* Monitor and optimise the use, movement and management of medicines
* Lead on governance, safety and regulatory compliance
* Manage resources, including stock control and budget oversight
* Support and develop colleagues, sharing knowledge and best practice
* Use data and insight to improve services and patient outcomes

Who we’re looking for
* Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in clinical pharmacy, ideally with an oncology focus
* Proven experience delivering oncology pharmacy services
* Strong understanding of chemotherapy and cancer treatment pathways
* Experience working collaboratively with consultants and multidisciplinary teams
* Ability to challenge and influence clinical practice using evidence‑based approaches
* Previous leadership or supervisory experience
* Commercial awareness, with an interest in service development
* Experience within the independent sector is beneficial, but not essential
