As a People Administrator, you'll be the welcoming face of the People Hub for colleague across the Sopra Steria family, providing timely and accurate responses to HR queries and supporting a wide range of people-related processes. From onboarding new starters and managing employment changes, to updating contracts and right-to-work details, you'll play a vital role in keeping our People Hub running smoothly. You'll collaborate closely with Recruitment, HR, Payroll, and Vetting teams, building strong relationships while maintaining high standards of service and data accuracy. Whether you're processing leavers, supporting secondees, or helping with audit reports and reference requests, your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help us deliver a people-focused service that supports our long-term vision and business goals. Our HR operations function will be moving into our Newcastle office in the coming months. That means you'll be based onsite at our Newcastle office three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday), with the flexibility to work from home on the remaining days. During the initial training period, occasional travel to our Stockton office may be required. What you'll be doing: Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, triaging requests and coordinating with second-tier teams. Support onboarding by preparing offer letters, contracts, and starter documentation, while maintaining communication with the relevant teams. Lead employment lifecycle tasks including contract returns, employment changes, leavers, fixed-term contracts, Mat leave, and career breaks. Handle reference requests, right-to-work checks, and maintain accurate employee records. Provide administrative support for secondees and deputees, including sponsorship documentation and travel coordination. Support the Employee Relations team with documentation and calculations, and contribute to audit reporting and ad hoc HR processes. Conduct peer checks to maintain accuracy and consistency across team outputs. What you'll bring: Experience in a dynamic and high-volume administrative environment, with strong organisational and coordination abilities. Comfortable leading detailed data entry and document handling, ideally within an HR or People Services setting. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy across varied tasks and systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach. Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with HR or CRM systems. HR experience is preferred but not essential-what matters most is your ability to stay organised, work collaboratively, and bring curiosity to learning new processes.
