Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior or Project Engineer with specialist expertise in structural steel to join our delivery team on a construction project in West London. You'll play a key role in managing the technical and delivery aspects of steel packages - from early-stage coordination through to fabrication, erection, and project close-out. The ideal individual will have a degree in civil/structural engineering with the ability to show previous experience gained in a similar role working on steel packages.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead the planning and delivery of structural steelworks on complex construction and infrastructure projects\nCoordinate with design consultants, steel fabricators, and site teams to ensure design intent and buildability\nReview and manage technical drawings, fabrication details, and connection designs\nEnsure compliance with relevant UK standards and specifications (e.g.
Eurocodes, BS EN 1090)\nOversee quality assurance, inspection, and testing procedures for steel elements\nProvide engineering support and problem-solving throughout the construction phase\nCollaborate with commercial, planning, and site teams to drive programme and cost performance\nEngage with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and local authoritiesQualifications and Experience:\n\nDegree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in the UK construction or infrastructure sector\nProven track record in the delivery of structural steel packages\nStrong understanding of UK building regulations, Eurocodes, and steel fabrication standards\nExperience in sectors such as rail, highways, commercial or industrial infrastructure is desirable\nEffective communicator with excellent coordination and leadership skills\nChartered or working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE is preferredWhat We Offer:\n\nOpportunity to work on nationally significant construction projects\nSupportive and collaborative engineering environment\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\nDiscretionary bonus schemePlease submit a copy of your CV if this role sounds of interest.\n\nAldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
