Overview
The main responsibilities of the role are maintaining levels of cleanliness throughout a designated area. Duties include and are not limited to cleaning in accordance with the work schedule, undertaking specialist cleaning under supervision, using machinery and cleaning materials safely, and following infection prevention and cross-contamination controls. You will work without immediate supervision, prioritise tasks and use your own initiative under time or other pressures while maintaining standards and pride in your work.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that the ward/area you are assigned to is cleaned in accordance with the work schedule for that area, including lifting items and operating cleaning machinery (some industrial standard).
* Undertake specialist cleaning as required under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and/or Nurse in Charge and/or Infection Prevention Department.
* Use machinery and equipment in accordance with training to prevent endangering yourself and others.
* Ensure all cleaning materials and disposables are used economically and stored securely and safely in your work area.
* Use the correct colour coded equipment to prevent cross contamination.
Requirements
* Strong team player, kind, friendly and motivated.
* Willingness to learn and develop skills; experience is not necessary as full training will be given.
* Reading, writing and conversation in English; ability to complete appropriate qualifications and training in:
* Knowledge of cleaning procedures
* COSHH procedures
* Infection prevention and control
* Relevant water systems training
* Use of equipment such as floor cleaning machinery
Working pattern
Monday to Friday 17:00-20:00.
