This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who want to support students with a range of learning needs and help them thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment. In this role, you will support students with various special educational needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. Your work will include providing one-to-one and small group support to help students achieve their learning objectives and develop their independence, confidence, and social skills. Key Responsibilities of SEN Learning Support (SEN LSA): Provide direct support to students with special educational needs, both one-to-one and in small groups. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning goals. Encourage and promote positive behaviour, academic participation, and personal development. Support students with personal care and mobility if required. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to ensure consistent student support. Record and report on student progress, contributing to planning and intervention strategies. Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students. Requirements for SEN Learning Support: Experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or similar setting as a SEN Learning Support. A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is advantageous. Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students with additional needs. An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one. Why Join GSL Education?
