Job Description:
My client are a leading trade supplier based in the Manchester area. As part of a drive to improve the quality and usability of their data to enable smoother business functionality, they are looking for bring in a Data Developer on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity central to a key strategic objective of the business.
The Data Developer is a key part of the IT Team and is responsible for ensuring designing and developing operational dashboards using PowerBI and the broader Power Platform suite.
Whilst primarily responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining reports using PowerBI data visualisation tool as the preferred technology, you will be working collaboratively across the business to define and develop custom reports and dashboards that deliver real-time information to support the business needs for data presentation and visualisation.
The successful candidate will play a developing our deployment of the Power Apps technology for driving data driven operational efficiencies whilst also playing a pivotal role in shaping our Fabric deployment and contributing to the business’ overall data strategy.
As well as technical skills the Data Developer requires strong project management skills as well as an ability to problem-solve, prioritise, and communicate.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities
* Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI reports and dashboards to support business operations whilst providing actionable insights.
* Develop, optimise, and manage SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
* Manage and support the operational tools (eg Access Data Factory) to streamline processes and enhance data and operational workflows. Including, developing and maintaining the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.
* Collaborate with software development team to integrate systems and reporting requirements with that of the end users.
* Co-ordinate responses to requests for data from stakeholders
* Be accountable for IT tickets raised and assigned to the role, ensuring response and resolution timescales are upheld and taking ownership of various reporting alerts.
* Assist in the development and execution of the company’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance data quality and accessibility.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
* An IT professional with a strong technical background, with outcome focused approach
* Good knowledge of applications, specifications, data and infrastructure
* Ability to communicate to tech-literate and non-technical staff
* Experience of working within a fast-paced environments
* Experience of similar role or tasks
Systems Experience
* Experienced with SQL/T-SQL and preferably PHP, JSON and Rest APIs
* Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure, including Azure Data Factory/Fabric and Microsoft365.
