Our organisation is committed to people—the residents of our homes, the communities we serve, and our colleagues. We prioritize attitude and behaviour, which are central to building relationships and delivering excellent experiences. We employ passionate colleagues who take responsibility and get things done.
As a not-for-profit housing association providing affordable homes and services to over 20,000 people across Greater Manchester, we have a strong social purpose. Our mission is to enable people to live well in their homes and communities.
If you have a passion for fire safety, attention to detail, and enjoy completing tasks, this is a great opportunity to start your career in fire safety.
This role will help you develop knowledge of fire safety regulations and assist Irwell Valley Homes in meeting statutory obligations. You will receive full training, ongoing mentoring, and opportunities for career development and external qualifications.
Your responsibilities will include inspecting communal areas of our blocks to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, visiting each block weekly or monthly, and recording inspections. You will also assist the Fire Safety Team with tasks such as allowing access for contractors and installing fire safety signage, all while ensuring customer satisfaction and managing associated risks.
We are looking for candidates who:
* Have experience in completing inspections or audits
* Provide high standards of customer care and service
* Are IT literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
* Possess strong interpersonal skills for liaising with colleagues and customers
* Have a general knowledge of the Regulatory Reform FSO 2005 and fire safety best practices (desirable but not essential)
* Hold fire safety qualifications or NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (desirable)
* Possess a full, valid driving licence
Everyone is welcome here. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, enabling everyone to be themselves at work. We trust and support our colleagues to do their best, which helps us deliver better outcomes for our customers and teams. We especially encourage applications from females in underrepresented areas such as Trades and Construction.
If you want to join our team and make a difference, we look forward to hearing from you.
