An established and highly regarded freight forwarding company with over 40 yearsâ experience is looking to expand its commercial team with a Sales & Development Executive. Based in Tilbury at the heart of the South Eastâs shipping industry, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic logistics firm specialising in global imports and exports via sea, air, road, and rail.

The Role
As a Sales & Development Executive, youâll be a key part of the growth strategyâresponsible for identifying and securing new business across all transport modes. Youâll play a hands-on role in both office-based and client-facing activities to build strong, profitable relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Proactively generate new business leads and convert sales opportunities
*
Grow sales across FCL/LCL sea freight, air freight, and road freight (imports and exports)
*
Collaborate with the Sales and Operations teams to develop leads and nurture accounts
*
Visit clients and attend meetings as part of a flexible, field-based approach
*
Prepare accurate and professional quotations, including all necessary terms and conditions
*
Maintain a high standard of customer service and relationship management
What Weâre Looking For
*
Minimum 2 years of freight sales experience (sea, air, and road)
*
Proven success in sales and business development within freight forwarding
*
Strong understanding of global logistics and supply chain operations
*
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
*
High attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
*
Friendly, approachable, and motivated personality
*
A collaborative team player with strong English and maths skills
*
(Desirable) Existing transferable business contacts or client portfolio
