Executive Director (Community and Enterprise Resources)

Permanent: 35 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm, and Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational leader to join the Corporate Management Team to continue our work to make South Lanarkshire the best place to live in the country.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this post will lead the delivery and further development of the following services.

* Facilities, Waste and Grounds Services
* Roads and Transportation Services
* Fleet and Environmental Services
* Planning and Economic Development Services

Crucial to your success will be your ability to build trust and confidence. You will display a high level of personal credibility aligned with excellent communication skills which allow you to work productively with Elected Members, employees and our partners.

You must be able to offer clear strategic direction, be able to analyse and understand complex performance information, and be able to work with others to translate this into effective deployment of resources in order to achieve the highest levels of service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Suitable candidates for this challenging role will possess a strong focus on delivering customer service needs within relevant legislative parameters.


Qualifications

You should be educated to degree level and/or relevant and equivalent professional qualification.

The successful candidate must demonstrate significant Head of Service or Director level experience in strategic and operational management across large complex organisations and have experience of successfully addressing the key challenges facing public services in Scotland.

* The Executive Director of Community and Enterprise Resources has responsibility for a diverse range of services and the successful candidate will be required to lead and direct multi‑functional teams across the Resource. Please outline your experience of leading multi‑ functional teams at Head of Service or Executive Director level or above across multiple service areas and what experience and skills you have utilised to maximise impact.
* With lead responsibility for frontline services, you will be required to ensure these are delivered across strategic, operational, and financial requirements. Considering these requirements, describe your involvement and level of responsibility in service delivery to meet recognised standards and legislative requirements in a challenging financial context.
* Please outline a significant transformational change project you have led at a senior level, detailing what the key deliverables were and how your involvement ensured success, and that the outcome aligned to the delivery of strategic objectives.
