About You

· The initiative and confidence to innovate strategies to support ASD and ADHD learners in the classroom
· Excellent, professional communication and interpersonal skills
· The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents
· A determined and resourceful approach to supporting learning
· A sensitive and relentlessly positive approach to supporting students in their learning
· Teaching assistant qualifications/equivalent and/or a desire to achieve their Level 2 qualification
· A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
The Role
You will:
· Work alongside teachers to plan adaptations for ASD and ADHD learners
· Support the delivery of a variety of lessons and activities
· Engage in CPD to build a wide repertoire of teaching and learning strategies for supporting ASD and ADHD learners in the classroom
· Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to support the metacognition of ASD and ADHD learners
· Create and use resources to support student understanding and self-regulation of their need
· Monitor the progress of students towards their learning goals, keep records and feedback to teachers and the SENDCo
· Be aspirational for all SEND learners, and particularly ASD and ADHD learners, promoting positive, supportive and inclusive learning environments
· Contribute to the development of the SEND team by sharing best practice and supporting others
· Contribute to the overall wellbeing and pastoral care of students.
