Position: Recreation Assistant (Ice) - East Kilbride Ice Rink
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Recreation Assistants to work at East Kilbride Ice Rink.
Your role will involve ensuring customers have a safe and enjoyable visit to the Ice Rink. You will collaborate with agencies to support young people with various needs in enjoying their visit while displaying appropriate social behaviors.
Applicants must be able to ice skate to a competent standard.
Responsibilities
1. Perform basic maintenance and fitting of skates and laces.
2. Restock vending machines at the end of each session.
3. Clean the facility in preparation for customers.
4. Use the grinding wheel to keep hire and customer skates sharp, including changing the abrasive wheel.
5. Operate the "Olympia" machine for ice preparation each session.
6. Open the building, check plant and equipment, and establish work priorities while handling customer inquiries.
