Housing Support Officer
We are looking for new team members to join Safe Roots Housing as Housing Support Officers. Safe Roots provide a supported accommodation service across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, the role of Housing Support Officer is integral to delivering our service and supporting our Service Users in the community to become independent.
This rewarding role will help our Service Users manage their tenancy, assist them to engage in employment activities, coaching and training, access to mental health support, drug and alcohol support and any other issues as identified.
Service Delivery Responsibility
The role of a Housing Support Officer is a primarily front facing role, working in the community to establish connections with service users and support their individual needs. Our ideal applicant will be confident at establishing and maintaining positive relationships with both service users and other partner agencies to ensure smooth running of service delivery.
The role consists of both teamwork and lone working, a Housing Support Worker will be confident in delivering a service in line with organisational policy and national standards of practice.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide one to one support with service users on your case load, offering advice and offer assistance tailored to the needs of the individual.
* Conduct ongoing assessments to the needs and risks of current Service Users, sharing and recording all necessary information in line with Safeguarding procedures.
* Aid Service Users in completing actions as set on individual support plans and reviewing on a regular basis to measure their progression.
* Motivate and work creatively with Service Users to engage with their support plan, ensuring tasks are completed.
* Instil service users with the confidence and empowerment to live independently.
* Manage and prioritise your own caseload to include support to Service Users, office duty, monitoring and accurate record keeping in line with the organisations policies and procedures.
* Deliver a service which maintains a safe and secure environment, in line with the Good Practice Standards of Housing.
* Work within the community to establish partnerships with other local agencies to provide further support to our Service Users.
* Ensure that Service Users understand their tenancy, and work with them to maintain their tenancy in a safe and secure environment.
* To prepare/assist Service Users in dealing with any problems arising from their accommodation including repairs, service charges, and living with others.
* To assist with move on accommodation, ensuring service users are registered with local housing authorities for accommodation services.
* Consistently review caseload ensuring all relevant information on risk, progression, and or engagement is shared appropriately.
* Maintain service user confidentiality in accordance with GDPR and Data Protection.
* Actively engage in team discussions, ensuring a positive attitude to teamwork and meeting targets and deadlines within service delivery.

NVQ Level 2/3, Health and Social Care: Preferred
Full UK Driving Licence and Access to own vehicle: Essential
Good IT Skills
Good Communication Skills
Good Record Keeping Skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability work on their own initiative
