Job title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Salary: Up to GBP55,210 commensurate with skills and experience. Part time & accruing hours available. Please let us know if you would like to discuss these options.
What you'll be doing:
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of engineering theories, concepts, practices, principles, and approaches. Apply theoretical engineering knowledge, experience, and skills to develop products & services, specifications, and resolve technical & performance issues.
* Apply and adhere to company policies and procedures.
* Support Mechanical Systems and equipment within the scope of the Submarine Support Motion Control Contract.
* Develop solutions to Mechanical design problems or situations.
* Work as part of a wider project team under limited technical supervision.
* Understand and apply a range of design processes, tools, systems, and techniques.
* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and with other functions.
* Perform self-verification of tasks to ensure quality and completeness.
* Support manufacturing, assembly, test, and operational technical queries.
* Apply knowledge of Engineering Governance and assurance processes.
* Support and lead continuous improvement activities.
* Review, amend, and draft technical documentation.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Engineering degree or working towards CEng level (or equivalent).
* Demonstrable experience in mechanical engineering.
* Ability to make judgments based on experience.
* Ability to assess solutions and evaluate alternatives.
Desirable:
* Thermal Systems
* Fluid Power Systems (e.g., Hydraulics)
* Computational Fluid Dynamics
* Manufacturing
