Working alongside our existing Safety Case Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, review, update, and submission of Offshore Safety Cases (SC) and Onshore COMAH Safety Reports (CSR), supporting the Southern North Sea Operation. As the Duty Holder of two critical infrastructure COMAH sites and 36 offshore assets, our client relies on its Safety Case Engineers to ensure the integrity of safety documentation and supporting systems. Collaborating across the business—including engineering teams, technical authors, performance standard owners, and operations personnel—you will ensure all Safety Case/COMAH Safety Reports remain compliant with statutory provisions and aligned with industry best practices.
This full-time, office-based role operates Monday to Friday from our Norwich office.
Organising, managing, and submitting SC/CSR documentation to the regulatory agency.
Leading Material Change submissions, engaging stakeholders to assess associated risk impacts.
Supporting hazard management efforts in collaboration with the Lead Safety Engineer, ensuring key risk assessment data remains current.
Coordinating with Performance Standard Owners and responsible engineers to maintain the accuracy and effectiveness of SC/CSR documents.
Supporting updates to existing SC/CSR for planned operational and project work.
Liaising with regulatory bodies regarding updates, material changes, and thorough reviews, keeping pace with evolving legislation.
Maintaining a register of SC/CSR commitments, tracking progress through P-Trac and ensuring timely delivery.
Ensuring key supporting documents—such as Emergency Response Plans and Lifesaving Equipment Layouts—remain updated and aligned with safety requirements.
Identifying ad-hoc resource needs to manage workload peaks and meet statutory deadlines.
Overseeing SEMS documentation for Safety Case Management.
SEC & Personal Safety Tasks:
Higher technical qualification - engineering preferred, but other disciplines considered.
10+ years of experience in Offshore UKCS Oil & Gas, top-tier COMAH sites, and/or the Competent Authority.
~ Deep understanding of Safety Case and COMAH regulations, including supporting legislation (PFEER, DSEAR, PSR, etc.).
~ Proven ability to develop QRA and Safety Case reports.
~ Experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects.
~ Strong knowledge of planning, cost control, and document management processes.
~ Project management experience preferred.
