An exciting opportunity has arisen at a secondary school in Sheffield for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join the team and provide targeted support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. About the Role: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to assist students in and out of the classroom. You will provide tailored support to help students engage with learning, manage behaviour positively, and achieve their academic goals. Responsibilities: • Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups across secondary subjects. • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and structured lessons. • Promote positive behaviour and encourage student participation in learning. • Support students with additional learning needs, including SEN and SEMH. • Help students develop confidence, independence, and study skills. • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment. Qualifications: • Previous experience working with secondary-aged students is desirable. • Experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs is beneficial. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in a classroom setting. • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.
