Take ownership of health & safety at a major recovery and treatment operation based in Edmonton, North London, working closely with senior leadership to build a high-performing, safety-first culture that's ready for future growth.
You'll be trusted, visible, and influential-supporting site managers, leading by example, and making real change where it matters most: on the ground.
What you'll be responsible for
You'll act as the go-to Health & Safety expert on site, with responsibility for:
Driving a positive, proactive safety culture through regular inspections, audits, and engagement
Delivering health & safety training and mentoring teams to embed best practice
Monitoring compliance, analysing data, and identifying trends to strengthen safeguards
Leading on incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and behavioural safety initiatives
Acting as the site Fire Safety Lead, ensuring statutory inspections and plans are fully up to date
Inducting visitors, contractors, and new starters, ensuring RAMS are suitable and sufficient
Overseeing traffic management plans and collaborating with environmental and facilities teams
Playing an active role within the site management team, influencing standards and decisionsWhat you'll need to succeed
This role is ideal for someone who is confident, credible, and hands-on.
Essential requirements:
NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
Proven experience in a Health & Safety role (waste or industrial environments preferred)
Strong leadership and analytical skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational setting
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence and availability for on-call emergenciesWhat's in it for you?
