Mechanical Design Engineer (Custom Design) Salary, Location & Hours * Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (potential for increase after probation, depending on performance and experience) * Location: Scunthorpe * Core Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:30–17:30, Friday 08:30–13:30/14:00 (39-hour week) * Flexibility: Start and finish times can be adjusted to suit (examples: some team members start between 06:00–08:30 and finish early accordingly, as long as the core weekly hours are fulfilled) Role Summary This is not a typical production-line design position; instead, you'll focus on solving unique, direct-to-client engineering challenges, always working on new and interesting projects. Many inquiries are for one-off or highly bespoke solutions—you will turn technical problems and original concepts into manufacturable, cost-effective results.
