Responsibilities
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
* Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients.
* Support the cooking staff during service by ensuring that all necessary utensils and ingredients are readily available.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly.
* Help with the disposal of waste and recycling in accordance with environmental policies.
* Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.
Skills
* Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is advantageous but not essential.
* Basic cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques are beneficial.
* Strong organisational skills with an ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
