Consultant Radiologist with Interest in Breast Imaging
Applications are invited for a Consultant Radiologist post, with a focus on Breast Imaging, at Croydon Healthcare NHS Trust (CHS). This full-time position results from service expansion and the retirement of the current lead breast radiologist. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply for an upcoming substantive role.
The CHS Breast Unit (the Bradbeer Unit) specializes in symptomatic breast imaging and is part of the South West London Network for Breast Services. Breast screening is organized from the Screening Hub at St George’s Hospital, with close collaboration with the Royal Marsden Hospital for adjuvant therapies, and all surgeries performed locally.
The role involves a 10 programmed activity job plan: 8.5 sessions of Direct Clinical Care and 1.5 SPA. There is a 1 in 14 on-call commitment, with overnight cover provided by tele-radiology. The department features advanced imaging technologies, including digital breast tomosynthesis, contrast-enhanced spectral mammography, and vacuum-assisted biopsies, installed in April 2022.
