Overview
Join to apply for the Frontline Services Advisor role at Falmouth Exeter Plus. The role is within the Student and Library Services Directorate and is a busy, varied position providing information and advice to students on all aspects of student life, referral to support services, and first‑line information to staff and students about Library resources. Services are delivered through the Student Helpdesks at Penryn & Falmouth campuses and online. You will manage and respond to incoming enquiries across a range of channels, providing information, advice and referral to subject specialists where required.
These are permanent, part‑time posts with a focus on delivering high‑quality student and staff support.
Responsibilities
* Manage and respond to incoming enquiries across a range of channels
* Provide information, advice and referral to subject specialists where required
* Signpost and support students to appropriate services
* Contribute to continual enhancement of the service
Qualifications and skills
* Customer focused with agility to work with a range of people and tasks
* Experience in a customer service role and understanding of issues affecting students in higher education
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
* Experience providing effective advice and signposting; knowledge of referral within a complex environment
* Desire to help improve the service
Experience/ competencies (desirable)
* Experience using a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system to record customer interactions
* Experience with administrative functions and Microsoft Office / Office 365
* Excellent teamwork and the ability to work independently with minimal support
* Strong communication and influencing skills with a diverse range of people
* Approachable, patient, empathetic listener with balanced judgement
Contract, hours and pattern
This position is offered on a permanent, part‑time basis, 22.5 hours per week, over 36 weeks. The working pattern is likely to be:
* Monday 11:00–19:00 (7.5 hours; onboarding may be 9:00–17:00)
* Wednesday 09:00–17:00
* Thursday 09:00–17:00
There may be some flexibility for the right candidate.
