Join to apply for the Assessor/Tutor–Animal Faculty - Remote role at learndirect Limited.
This position is a part-time role, covering a total of 15 hours per week, and is based on remote work. You will assess learners’ work remotely via our online learning portal, respond to learner queries, and support moderation windows as part of the faculty team.
The role involves assessing canine qualifications from Level 2 to Level 6, in line with awarding body requirements. You will contribute to the learner journey and success by being responsive to learner queries and ensuring timely progress and achievement.
Base pay range information is provided by learndirect Limited; actual pay depends on skills and experience. Talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate with teaching staff, tutors, and assessors to maintain high-quality assessment and course outcomes.
* Undertake quality assurance of assessment and ensure consistent assessment decisions across the team.
* Manage and track learner outcomes (e.g., success rates, pass rates, onward destinations) to help the faculty achieve sector-leading results.
* Organise external assessment requirements according to awarding organisations and professional bodies.
* Keep awarding organisation and professional body requirements up to date, including membership needs, delivery updates, and assessment calendars.
* Manage logistical aspects of assessment submissions, internal quality assurance, and moderation of learner portfolios and examinations.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Assistant Director of Learning and Content Delivery, Faculty Director, Registration and Certification Team, Quality Manager) to share updates.
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with students, teaching staff, and other stakeholders, supporting the full learner journey.
* Direct involvement in teaching, learning, assessment, and quality assurance to align with Awarding Organisation requirements and deliver a best-in-class learner experience.
* Provide learner support by answering queries (e.g., HubSpot tickets with a 3-working-day response target).
* Ensure the faculty adheres to Learndirect learner journey standards and promote digitised, self-serve learner experiences where possible.
* Represent the Faculty in internal and External Quality Assurance meetings with awarding organisations.
* Ensure learning content is current and accurate.
Qualifications and Skills
* Canine/Animal-related degree qualification (essential)
* Assessor or teaching qualification (essential)
* Excellent written English and strong subject knowledge in animal science/welfare
* Experience assessing and tutoring adult learners
* Ability to problem-solve, research answers for student questions, and provide high-quality assessment decisions
* Digital proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and common platforms
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage workload autonomously
* Team player capable of working within established processes and procedures
* Flexible and responsive
