Gooey is a local bakery with big ambitions As we enter an exciting period of growth, we're
looking for a talented Pastry Senior Sous Chef to support our Head Chef and play a key
role in our creative and production teams.'
The Role
* Support the Head Chef and Directors with creative pastry development across the
business
* Assist in research, testing, and costing of new products, scaling recipes for production
* Work with the Production Team to maintain consistency and brand standards
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, food safety and hygiene
* Organise weekly schedules efficiently, using excellent communication to keep the
team aligned
* Train and mentor junior pastry chefs, sharing knowledge and skills
* Bring fresh ideas and awareness of evolving pastry trends
* Be available for early-morning starts - reliable transport is essential due to shift times
About You
* A real passion for pastry, with creativity and flair
* Experience leading or supervising a pastry section/team
* Strong communication skills and organisational ability
* Good understanding of recipe production, costing, and GP
* At least two years in a senior pastry role (Sous Chef, Junior Sous, or strong Chef de
Partie) in a quality bakery, restaurant, or hotel
