Overview:
Working within modern purpose-built manufacturing facilities the Senior Quality Engineer will be working for a precision engineering business that manufacture components and fabrications for the aerospace, nuclear and defence industry.
Brief overview of duties:
* Support the Quality Manager in maintaining certifications.
* Conduct product and system audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer-specific requirements.
* Compile documentation packs to support product delivery and traceability.
* Provide engineering support for Visual and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspections.
* Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine quality standards.
* Apply First Article Inspection techniques in line with AS9102 requirements
* Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the business
* Use quality tools to detect, contain, and investigate non-conformances, ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented
* Define and apply process control methods, including identifying critical control points and developing work instructions
The ideal candidate / Senior Quality Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
* Experience with data collection and analysis
* A strong background at implementing quality systems within a precision engineering environment - aerospace/machining/fabrication or similar
* Experienced in Lean/problem solving techniques (8D), Kaizen.
* Knowledge of 6 Sigma process beneficial
* Competent/capable of driving quality throughout a large business and manufacturer
