Compliance Lead

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Lead to join the business on a 3–6 month interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an internal candidate looking to broaden their exposure, gain senior stakeholder experience, and play a visible role in strengthening our compliance culture across Calor.
You will work closely with the General Counsel, Management Team, and SHV Energy to ensure we continue to meet our statutory and regulatory obligations while embedding best practice compliance standards across the organisation.
This role offers high levels of visibility and the chance to influence compliance strategy at both UK and Group level.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Stay up to date with relevant legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business
* Conduct risk assessments and compliance audits to identify and mitigate areas of exposure
* Monitor adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies
* Interpret and communicate regulatory changes clearly to stakeholders
* Support managers in identifying practical solutions to compliance challenges
* Implement preventative and corrective measures to mitigate risk
* Deliver engaging training and workshops to raise awareness across the business
* Investigate irregularities and non-compliance issues where required
* Report on compliance performance and risk to the Management Team and SHV
* Maintain, review, and enhance internal policies and procedures
* Champion compliance best practice and help embed a strong compliance culture
* Work closely with the SHV Energy Ethics & Compliance community, using Group tools and attending quarterly E&C meetings
What We're Looking For
You may already be working in Legal, Risk, Audit, Governance, Data Privacy, Finance or another regulatory-focused function and looking to expand your impact.
Key knowledge areas include:
* Anti-money laundering regulations
* Competition law
* Bribery and corruption
* Data privacy / GDPR
* Fraud prevention
* Trade sanctions
* Third-party due diligence
* Speak-up / whistleblowing frameworks
You'll also bring:
* A strong understanding of governance, risk and compliance frameworks
* Experience interpreting policy and regulatory requirements
* Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and delivering training
* Strong communication and influencing skills
* Good working knowledge of compliance tools (e.g. third-party due diligence platforms, ROPA management)
* Degree-level education preferred; legal or compliance/data privacy qualifications advantageous
