Overview
Unity Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference to patient care within a forward-thinking and supportive environment. The role will involve practice-based working, providing both patient-facing and patient-supporting services in line with national and local priorities.
You will work closely with our Clinical Pharmacists, GPs, and wider multidisciplinary team to improve medicines use, ensure patient safety, and support the delivery of key PCN targets.
Responsibilities
* Undertake medicines reconciliation in accordance with practice protocols and update patient records accordingly.
* Support cardiovascular prevention initiatives, including hypertension case finding, cholesterol monitoring, and facilitating lifestyle and medication reviews.
* Assist in achieving Prescribing Quality Schemes and Outcomes Framework (QOF) targets.
* Support Clinical Pharmacists in delivering Medication Reviews, ensuring necessary monitoring tests are arranged in advance.
* Contribute to medicines safety monitoring, particularly for high-risk drugs.
* Manage shared care protocols and liaise with Clinical Pharmacists for complex patients.
* Support medication reviews and synchronisation of medicines for patients moving between care settings.
* Participate in audits, including antimicrobial stewardship.
* Respond to medication queries from patients and staff in a professional manner, escalating appropriately.
Technical & Administrative
* Contribute to the review and development of repeat prescribing protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Support implementation of national prescribing policies and guidelines.
* Assist with monitoring and managing prescribing budgets.
* Prepare evidence-based resources to support cost-effective prescribing.
* Support CQC compliance through policy development and evidence gathering.
* Assist in planning, developing, and supporting new working processes to optimise prescribing quality.

Pay: Up to £14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 32 per week
