I am looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for my client based in Yorkshire. They are a growing and busy contractor working across the residential,commercial and infrastructure sectors with a turnover of around £60 m.
The ideal candidate will have a construction or Civil Engineering contracting background and experience of reinforced concrete frames and structures contracting will be a definite bonus.
I'd like to speak with experienced candidates who can lead the implementation, management and optimisation of health and safety across the business. Although based in their head office you will be visiting sites on a regular basis- there are mainly in the North and North West of England.
Duties will include the following:
Reviewing and assessment of current H&S systems and practices. Identification of gaps and development of a company-wide strategy
Ensuring strong H&S presence across all sites. Conducting regular site audits and inspections.
Lead, develop and implementation of safety culture and communication of standards to the existing team, and new team members – part of induction process. Delivery consistent H&S messaging through site engagement.
Providing in-house training (e.g., Working at Height, Traffic Marshal) and maintenance of competency records.
Support project teams in managing documentation such as PM reports, as-builts, and TQs.
Develop, review, and implement RAMS and communicate any changes effectively.
Assist with Pre-Qualifications as required.
Accident and near miss support for site team – assess the core issues, communicate lessons learnt to other sites
Carry out ISO Audits, Achilles etc.. Assist with bringing these standards in line with their business.
Applicants will need the relevant NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications/memberships and be able to demonstrate a successful and stable track record of delivery.
On offer is a salary of around 70-80k plus a package or daily rate if this preferred.
