Job Description
The Associate Accountant will contribute to ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliation, and processing of key data to enable the business to monitor performance, drive improvement, collect cash, and ensure governance across a collection of key client contracts.

To ensure accurate accounting, reconciliation, and processing of key data to enable the business to monitor performance, drive improvement, collect cash, and ensure governance across a collection of key client contracts.
Responsibilities
1. Review and code invoices and expenses across selected contracts in line with contract terms and conditions.
2. Review and code Plant & Equipment and Consumables costs in line with contract terms and conditions.
3. Review and analyze costs coded within the accounting system to each contract to ensure charges are valid and in line with contract terms; make corrections as required.
4. Review Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) register, highlight discrepancies, and support close-out with SCM/Contract.
5. Prepare or support the preparation of labour and non-labour reconciliations to establish over/under-recoveries and enable corrective actions in a timely manner. Follow-up and action on outputs.
6. Collate contract payroll reports, perform monthly cost centre clearance, and prepare labour accruals.
7. Manage internal cost rates for contract cost centres.
8. Support the DFSS billing team as required.
9. Assist senior accountants with other month-end processing and reporting.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience:
* 1-2 years relevant accounting experience
* Proficient in Excel
* Competent in using ERP/forecasting systems
Job-Specific Skills:
* Good understanding of contract commercials, rate build-ups, and cost recovery to maximize cash flow
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build good working relationships within teams
* Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
* Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy
* Attention to detail is critical
* Ability to work as part of a team
