The Opportunity: We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator to join this friendly accounting team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organized professional to play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth payroll operations for the firm's diverse client portfolio.Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator Key Responsibilities:Process bookkeeping transactions including invoices, payments, receipts and reconciliationsMaintain up-to-date and accurate client records using accounting software (Sage, Xero etc.)Prepare VAT returns, reconcile control accounts and assist with month/year-end proceduresProcess weekly/monthly payroll for clients, calculating taxes, NICs, statutory payments etc.Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, RTI submissions and dealing with HMRC queriesLiaise with clients to obtain relevant payroll data and resolve any discrepanciesProduce comprehensive payroll reports and provide support/training to clients as neededAssist the accounts team with ad-hoc duties and general administrative tasksRequirements:Proven experience as a bookkeeper and/or payroll administratorStrong knowledge of UK payroll regulations including RTI, PAYE, NIC, SMP etc.Proficiency in using accounts and payroll software packages (Sage, Xero, BrightPay etc.)Excellent numeracy and attention to detail with the ability to work accuratelyGreat time management and organizational abilities to meet deadlinesConfident client-facing skills with the ability to build positive relationshipsProactive and resourceful with a team-oriented mindsetAAT qualification or relevant qualifications/certifications are desirableBenefits:Competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (DOE)Generous annual leave entitlement and company pension schemeContinuous training and opportunities for professional developmentInclusive culture within a long-standing and family-oriented practiceConvenient location in Harrow with transport links nearbyIf you are an experienced bookkeeper and payroll professional looking to join a welcoming and supportive accountancy team, please apply with your current CV.
