Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Technical Operations Manager to join our team in the United Kingdom. This pivotal role will support our mission to provide exceptional solutions within the food and beverage sector, contributing to our ongoing growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead new product formulation, scale-up, and commercialisation
* Manage supplier performance and commercial negotiations (Purchasing)
* Drive innovation, patent development, and IP control
* Manage monthly R&D meetings and development pipelines
* Full people management responsibility, including hiring, performance management, and development
* Ensure compliance with MSDS, TDS, REACH, ISO 9001, and other regulatory requirements
* Maintain and improve quality control systems and batch release processes
* Control lab spend and departmental budgets
* Deliver technical testing efficiently and to a high standard
* Own and improve operational KPIs including DOTIF and non-conformances
Performance Measures (KPIs)
* Gross profit generated from new products
* Number of new products successfully scaled up per year
* Patent and IP management
* Technical tests completed and reports delivered
* Delivery On Time In Full (DOTIF)
* Quality non-conformances
* Departmental profitability and cost control
Must-Have Requirements
* HND or higher qualification in a scientific discipline
* Minimum 5 years' people management experience (teams of 5+), including hiring and firing
* Minimum 5 years' experience in new product development and scale-up to commercialisation
* Experience in similar product areas (e.g. lubricants, inks, adhesives)
* Experience with hot melt, water-based, or solvent-based adhesives
* Knowledge of application equipment (e.g. Nordson, ITW)
* Full UK driving licence

* Engineering background (degree preferred)
* Holder of one or more patents
