Specialty Doctor Paediatrics – Community and General Paediatrics NHS Lanarkshire - University Hospital Wishaw NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team who would relish the opportunities and challenges of delivering high quality care across Lanarkshire in both the community and general paediatric service. This is a new post following retirements. We see this as an opportunity to consolidate existing services and to continue to develop as a centre of excellence in secondary paediatric care. This is a full time post with 10 PAs available. The core 10 PA working week will be based on 9 PA’s of Direct Clinical Care (DCC) duties and 1 PA of SPA time for a full-time post-holder. This can be reviewed within 6 months of commencing the post. The successful candidate will be a member of the community paediatric team delivering clinics weekly and supporting the middle grade acute paediatric rota out of hours, including weekends. An interest in sleep, would be welcomed. The role will involve approximately 4 clinics per week in community paediatrics, with contribution towards the out of hours rota. Community Child health clinics will involve seeing children with common problems such neurodevelopmental disorders, sleep and developmental delay. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in further development of Paediatric services in Lanarkshire in line with local service requirement and the National agenda and in shaping the vision for Lanarkshire Paediatrics in the future. Services are supported by specialist services, and multidisciplinary clinics with shared care arrangements for Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Genetics, Urology, Cardiology, and Cystic Fibrosis. Consultant Surgeons from Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow also run regular surgical outpatient clinics and day case lists in Wishaw General and work closely with local anesthetic and paediatric staff. We welcome applications from doctors wishing to work less than full-time and those wishing to pursue further training to develop a specialist interest.
