Senior Construction Manager
Base Location: Edinburgh Park Office, with regular travel required to sites throughout Edinburgh, the Lothians & Borders and Dumfries & Galloway.
Salary: up to £84,700 + annual bonus (up to 15%, performance based).
Private medical insurance – individual cover.
Additional salary enhancements: Business miles paid at £0.45/mile for the first 10,000 miles.
Full Time / Permanent (37 hours per week).

What you’ll be doing
* Lead and manage a Construction Unit, overseeing the planning, coordination and delivery of multiple construction projects.
* Provide direct line management to a team of Construction Managers, coaching, performance, capability development and succession planning.
* Ensure safe, compliant and efficient delivery of works in line with programme, budget and quality expectations.
* Play an active role in pre‑construction activity, including constructability input, programme planning, contractor engagement and risk mitigation.
* Work collaboratively with Project Management, Engineering, Commercial and HSQE teams to ensure seamless end to end delivery.
* Maintain strong oversight of contractor performance, supply chain relationships and stakeholder interfaces.
* Champion health, safety, environmental and quality standards across all site activities.
What you’ll bring
* Proven senior construction leadership experience, managing teams within a complex delivery environment.
* Strong track record in construction delivery, alongside demonstrable involvement in pre‑construction and development phases.
* Experience delivering projects within electricity transmission, power, or large‑scale infrastructure, or transferable sectors such as civils, rail or major regulated infrastructure.
* Confident people leader able to motivate teams, manage performance and drive a positive safety culture.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Sound commercial awareness, with experience managing contractors and controlling cost, risk and programme.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant Construction or Engineering discipline.
* Professional membership (or working towards) with a recognised body such as CIOB, ICE or similar.
* SMSTS (or equivalent).
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to sites.
