We are appointing to multiple full-time posts, but consideration can be given regarding hours for the right candidate. As part of our friendly Council Tax team, you’ll play a vital role in making sure bills are managed accurately and fairly, always balancing the rules with a human touch. You’ll help people navigate what can be a stressful process, offering reassurance, clear explanations and practical solutions. Your days will be varied, whether you’re talking to customers on the phone, welcoming them face-to-face, or writing back to queries, you’ll bring plenty of patience, tact and understanding. From setting up new Council Tax accounts and applying discounts, to arranging payment plans and guiding customers towards self-service options, you’ll help make sure everything runs smoothly. You’ll also be there to spot when someone might need extra support, signposting to further help or safeguarding where needed. You’ll use our MRI Revenues & Benefits system alongside document management software to keep everything up to date and accurate. But you won’t be on your own. You’ll work in a collaborative team that’s big on sharing knowledge and looking out for each other. We’ll give you all the training you need, support your professional development, including options for qualifications through the IRRV, and once you’re fully settled in, we can explore hybrid working to give you more flexibility. With a main base at County Hall in Dorchester and an office at Westport House, you’ll be part of a service that truly values what you bring.
