You will be able to demonstrate a caring and compassionate nature, with good interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to manage a busy and varied workload in a timely manner is essential and to have a flexible approach to day to day tasks is essential, in order to meet the demands of the service.Cardiff and Vale Audiology Service is a multi-site service, which is provided across Acute, Community and Educational settings. We provide a full range of Adult and Paediatric Audiology Services. Cross site between University Hospital Wales and West Quay Medical Centre, Barry.This is a temporary (locum) post for 3 months cover with potential to be extended. Working hours are Monday - Friday 0900-1700. Main duties of the job The Audiologist will perform a range of routine diagnostic hearing tests and rehabilitative procedures on adults. Adult Rehabilitation - Hearing aid repairs, ENT cover, Hearing Aid Fittings, Direct Referral Hearing Assessments, Hearing Aid Reassessments You will be a member of a team of staff responsible for the delivery of evidence-based patient care, which is of the highest standard. You will assist with monitoring and improvement of standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources. They will participate with mentoring of students and assistant practitioners. You will work independently as well as part of a team, and you will have a good understanding of current trends and developments in Audiology services. The role will be predominantly adult focused. We have a well-structured support system across the department and support professional development. Essential criteriaBSc Audiology / MSc Audiology or equivalentBAA parts I & II, BTEC MPPMWorking towards registration with RCCP Desirable criteriaRegistration with HCPCAbility to perform the appropriate range of routine diagnostic tests, report on the test results and formulate individual programmes of treatmentKnowledge and understanding of Professional Guidelines/Codes of Practice
