We are now looking for a Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to join our senior leadership team. This is a role for a finance professional who wants to bring their expertise into a values-driven, community-centred organisation, someone who can work peer-to-peer with fellow leaders while also respecting that many of our Board members have lived experience of disability and expect clear, accessible financial insight to support decision-making. About the Role As a strategic leader, you shape and deliver a financial strategy that supports the organisation’s mission and long-term vision, embedding sound financial thinking across all departments. You provide clear, informed guidance to the CEO and Board, ensuring decisions are both inclusive and well-grounded. Your role also includes overseeing financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis, maintaining strong governance and compliance standards, and ensuring that contracts, payroll, procurement, and other core processes operate efficiently. Operationally, you lead and develop the finance team, championing professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. You ensure financial systems (including Sage, Phocus, Citation, and Nourish) are effective and integrated, while driving value-for-money and long-term sustainability across the organisation. You also support risk management, assess investment opportunities, and contribute to business planning for growth and resilience through: Accurate, timely, and accessible financial insights Robust governance, risk, GDPR, and fraud controls Effective budgeting, systems oversight, and resource planning Continuous process and system efficiency improvements Identification of risks, opportunities, and capital investment cases About You We’re looking for a colleague, not just a function head. Someone who is: A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalant). Experienced in senior-level financial leadership, ideally within purpose driven organisations. Able to communicate complex information in a clear, patient, accessible way. Skilled at building trust, influencing decisions and working collaboratively across a diverse team Confident navigating governance, risk =, planning and systems improvement Personally aligned with our values: Diversity, Aspiration, Choice & Togetherness Experience within a not for profit, social care and Community Interest Company environment is welcomed, though not essential.
