Monday to Thursday (occasional Friday mornings)
Responsible for ensuring legal compliance and that a safe working environment is maintained on site. This role requires someone who is confident, knowledgeable and able to influence. The HSE Manager will develop a strong, positive culture of Health & Safety, drive behavioural safety, provide professional advice and hands-on guidance to all departments within the Business.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE
* Work in accordance with Hodgson Sealants safety standards
* Maintain, develop and review policies and procedures for ISO 45001 and 14001
* Ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
* Agree annual HSE improvement targets with the Senior Leadership Team
* Review all Health, Safety and Environmental reports, analysing data to determine areas of improvement
* Investigate and report on any Health, Safety and Environmental issues using our Q-Pulse system, e.g. accidents, incidents, near misses
* Ensure all hazards are identified and that risk assessments / work instructions are completed to enable safe operation and working
* Conduct internal Health, Safety and Environmental audits and inspections
* Produce and present toolbox talks required and ensure staff sign-off / compliance
* Report monthly into the Operational Management Team on Health, Safety and Environmental issues / KPI performance
* Work towards continuous improvement within ISO 45001 and 14001 systems
* Organise and chair Heath, Safety and Environmental meetings
* Contribute to Waste Management and maintain site tidiness
* Manage the monthly HSE budget and maintain stocks of PPE, workwear and associated items
* Recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety
* Work closely with department managers to identify training requirements, and effectively deliver in-house training
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety
* Experience of ISO 45001 / 14001 system operation
* Commitment to HSE management and previous experience within an HSE role

* 36hrs per week Monday to Thursday (Occasional Friday a.m. working when required)
