Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We're looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school in Newcastle from January 2026. This is your chance to start the year making a real difference in students' lives.
What You'll Do
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN (including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties).
* Assist teachers in adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional well‑being.
* Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school‑based experience is a bonus).
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
* Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
