Fixed Term for 12 Months

Pharmacy and Medicines; Flourishing in Fife

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our talented team at NHS Fife. We are one of the most dynamic health boards in Scotland, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 370,000 across the Kingdom of Fife. We are rooted in the communities we serve and are driven by our vision to improve the health of our population by developing integrated healthcare services delivered through our highly talented and committed workforce. We work with local people and partners across health, social care, and the voluntary sector in innovative ways to improve health and wellbeing for all our communities. Our key priority will be to develop closer integrated and collaborative ways of working with all our partners to implement our new Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

Role and Responsibilities

We now require an exceptional Head of Pharmacy – Population Health and Wellbeing, to fulfil this key senior role which is responsible for the leadership and development of primary care, community pharmacy and public health services, along with specialist services including Pain, Addictions, Rheumatology and BBV in Fife. A key function of this role will be continuing to evolve pharmacy practice across primary care in line with Pharmacotherapy, whilst also developing the other areas of this portfolio. It’s an exciting time to work in pharmacy, and we require a leader to join us who shares this excitement, passion, and enthusiasm for change. The Head of Pharmacy needs to be able to inspire and lead our workforce to ensure our services are fit for the future and deliver the best care for patients.

As an inspirational team leader, you will help to guide a highly engaged team to transform the way we deliver pharmacy services in line with our core values of dignity and respect; care and compassion; openness, honesty, and responsibility; and quality and teamwork. Reporting to NHS Fife’s Deputy Director of Pharmacy and Medicines, the post holder will also be expected to develop strong collaborative working relationships across the organisation, to support transformation of services. This is vitally important to how we deliver future sustainable health and care services to support people across Fife.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to provide dynamic strategic direction and operational leadership, in the planning, management and provision of our clinical pharmacy services.

If you are excited by the prospect of joining one of NHS Scotland’s most dynamic and forward-thinking Boards, and by the opportunity to shape and evolve hospital pharmacy clinical services, we would love to hear from you.
