Job Description
The Head of Silverstone is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence and commercial performance of all Freemans activity delivered at Silverstone Circuit. This role acts as the senior Freemans representative and the single point of accountability for the Silverstone relationship, ensuring exceptional delivery while actively growing the breadth, value and longevity of the Freemans partnership with Silverstone. The role leads and develops the Freemans on-site leadership team, ensuring consistent standards, high performance and a collaborative, high-performing culture. You are accountable for ensuring that all food & beverage, concessions and operational delivery at Silverstone meet Freemans’ standards for quality, consistency, innovation, safety and guest experience. The Head of Silverstone plays a key role in shaping long-term strategy for the account, driving sustainable growth, continuous improvement and innovation in close collaboration with the Director of Events and Freemans’ senior leadership team.
Essential Qualifications
* Proven senior leadership experience within events, hospitality, venue management or large-scale operations
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving revenue growth, operational efficiency and profitability
* Experience managing complex, high-profile client relationships
* Experience delivering large-scale, high-footfall or complex live events
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior client and executive-level engagement
* Ability to lead, inspire and develop multi-site or regional teams
* Strong understanding of operational planning, food & beverage delivery and event logistics
* Good working knowledge of licensing, health & safety and compliance requirements within events
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience within motorsport, sporting venues, festivals or large-scale outdoor events
* Understanding of commercial agreements, rights holder relationships and event contracting models
* Knowledge of trends and innovation in food & beverage, event technology and guest experience
* Experience delivering sustainability or environmental initiatives within live events
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Account Ownership
* Develop and deliver the operational and commercial strategy for all Freemans activity at Silverstone
* Act as the senior owner of the Silverstone account, with full accountability for performance, delivery and growth
* Ensure Silverstone is consistently delivered as a flagship, best-in-class Freemans venue
* Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency, service quality and commercial performance
* Contribute to long-term strategic planning, sustainability priorities and continuous improvement initiatives
Silverstone Client Leadership & Partnership Growth
* Act as the primary and senior point of contact between Freemans and Silverstone Circuit
* Build, maintain and strengthen a trusted, collaborative partnership with Silverstone’s executive team and key stakeholders
* Lead all senior-level planning, governance, review and performance meetings with the client
* Identify and develop opportunities to grow the Freemans partnership through expanded services, innovation and commercial initiatives
* Support long-term account planning, contract development and renewal discussions
Leadership & Culture
* Lead, coach and develop the Freemans Silverstone leadership and delivery team, including the Event and Venue Manager
* Set clear KPIs, performance expectations and operational standards
* Build a culture of excellence, accountability, teamwork and innovation
* Ensure readiness and consistent delivery across all Silverstone activity, including major motorsport weekends
Operational Excellence
* Oversee all food, beverage and operational services at Silverstone to ensure seamless execution
* Ensure all concessions, bars, retail units and operational teams deliver consistent Freemans brand standards
* Lead planning and execution of peak and major delivery periods
* Troubleshoot operational issues and manage escalation during live delivery
* Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, service delivery and customer flow
Commercial & Financial Management
* Own the commercial and financial performance of the Silverstone account
* Monitor budgets, control costs and drive profitability
* Analyse commercial performance, identifying risks, trends and growth opportunities
* Support commercial negotiations with Silverstone, suppliers and partners
* Ensure all operations meet agreed financial, contractual and performance targets
Stakeholder & Partner Management
* Act as the senior Freemans representative with Silverstone Circuit management
* Build strong relationships with promoters, rights holders, suppliers and partners
* Represent Freemans in senior governance, planning and review forums
* Ensure Silverstone’s expectations are consistently met or exceeded
Cross-Divisional Collaboration
* Work closely with Food Service, Bars, Catering, Concessions, Operations, Brand Partnerships, Marketing and FEP Pay
* Ensure alignment across all Freemans divisions on standards, planning and delivery
* Support integrated initiatives that enhance guest experience, efficiency and commercial performance
People Leadership & Development
* Lead the development of the Freemans Silverstone team
* Provide mentoring, coaching, performance management and career development support
* Support recruitment, seasonal resourcing and succession planning with People & Culture and People & Deployment
* Build a high-performing, motivated and engaged on-site team
