We're seeking a dedicated Graduate Scientist with a Materials Science degree or relevant experience to shape the future of materials innovation. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of new ceramic materials and manufacturing technologies. Responsibilities: Collaborate with a team of technicians and scientists to deliver R&D and consultancy projects. Engage in every phase of advanced ceramics research, from powder preparation to the final sintered product. Utilize diverse processing techniques, including pressing, casting, spray drying, 3D printing, and sintering. Oversee parts of R&D projects. Use your academic experience to contribute to technical discussions. Guide apprentices and technicians in their materials knowledge development. Perform routine tests such as powders characterization, rheology studies, thermal analysis, microscope observations, mechanical tests, etc. Contribute to the writing of documentation and reports. Adhere to and improve safety protocols and maintain awareness of potential hazards associated with laboratory work. Manage time effectively, working on multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely project delivery. Keep clear and accurate records of tests/experiments and materials used. Qualifications: Master's degree in Materials Science or a degree in a relevant field with laboratory experience. Experience: Previous laboratory experience is important. Experience in sintering and furnace operation would be an asset. Knowledge/Skills: General knowledge of materials science and engineering, with advanced ceramics and composites knowledge being advantageous. Experience in materials testing techniques (at least two of the following: hardness testing, rheology measurements, microscope observations, mechanical testing, thermal analysis (Thermal expansion, TGA/DSC, LFA), or SEM). Adherence to safety protocols and awareness of hazards in a laboratory environment, with the ability to follow methods, standards, and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good time management skills with flexibility to work on multiple projects. Strong work ethic, ability to work collaboratively, and a solution-oriented mindset.
