Our graduates predominantly work at our main site, before starting some shifts at branches when appropriate. These will always be alongside an experienced vet colleague and the choice of branch can be decided based on where you reside. At Yorkshire Vets, we have a large and varied team of 20 vets and 20 nurses, with a range of experience from new graduates up to staff who have been with the practice for their whole working lives, spanning decades. We are fortunate to have the internal resources of surgery certificate holders, ophthalmology certificate holders and a dermatology certificate holder. Certificate level imaging is available to us by a local peripatetic ultrasonography service. Yorkshire Vets are proud to have one of the leading animal hospitals in Leeds and Bradford with RCVS Accredited Thornbury branch. Practice facilities include digital x-rays, ultrasound, a dedicated orthopaedic theatre, isolation facilities, dental x-ray, laparoscopic spay equipment, video endoscopy - all of the stuff you'd expect from a 24 hour hospital! We are also investing in dental radiography for our Morley branch and have recently expanded our inhouse laboratory equipment at our branches with a new fleet of Idexx haematology and biochemistry analysers. You will work 40 hours per week which will be Monday to Friday with shifts of 8-5, 8:30-5:30 or 9-6 with a 1 in 4 Saturday morning on a rota basis. As a new graduate you will receive exceptional support. We have a practice culture of learning, with 3 Clinical Directors and a number of Vet GDP qualified experienced vets. You will start work in our busy main hospital, with a variety of cases and colleagues to learn from. Dependent on availability/occupancy, there may be practice accommodation available.
