Non-Executive Director (NED) and Chair of Audit & Risk Committee
Overview
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Non-Executive Director (NED) who will act as Chair for our Audit & Risk Committee, taking up the substantive Audit Chair role in April 2026 when the current post-holder completes his term. This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior leader with significant financial expertise and experience gained in a large, complex organisation. The role is part‑time, approximately 3 days per month.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide effective leadership to the Audit & Risk Committee and ensure high standards of governance, assurance and financial stewardship.
* Offer independent challenge and informed scrutiny to the Board.
* Promote transparency in decision-making and support the development and delivery of high‑quality care.
* Build constructive relationships with internal and external auditors, Board colleagues and wider system partners.
* Chair the Audit & Risk Committee, contributing to the Board’s collective responsibility for quality, performance and risk oversight.
* Champion the Trust’s values and foster a culture of inclusion, learning and continuous improvement.
* Show a genuine commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
Required: Significant senior financial expertise gained in a large, complex organisation, with a strong understanding of audit, risk management and assurance processes.
