Were at the forefront of innovation in the UK Structural Warranty Insurance sector, where we provide claims management and loss adjusting services to insurer clients and our customers who may be experiencing a defect with their home.
Key Activities:
* Manage all phases of the Latent Defect Insurance claim process to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This will include but is not limited to:
* Receive new claims.
* Complete initial claim review within agreed timeframe.
* Check all claim details to ensure information is accurate and complete. Identify and remedy any queries, discrepancies and/or omissions.
* Make appropriate decision on claim validity, following approved guidelines.
* If claim is rejected, prepare rejection letter for review by Claims Team Manager (CTM) and distribute to policyholder once approved.
* If accepted, prepare case strategy review (CSR) and submit for review by CTM.
* Once reviewed, make necessary adjustments to the CSR based on feedback from CTM and submit for further review as required. Continue this phase until CTM approval received.
* Once CTM approval received, process claim and complete agreed actions.
* For claims in excess of £500,000, notify client prior to claim processing so that they can inform their reinsurer. For claims in excess of £1m, also notify Claims Director to obtain both internal and client approval to proceed.
* Accurately interpret expert reports and insurance policies.
* Effectively manage reserves throughout the claim lifecycle.
* Raise payments, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
* Update Claims Management Portal System to ensure all claim records are accurate and complete, and all data securely stored following appropriate guidelines.
* Participate in any internal or external training as required, including high level CII/CILA qualifications. The company will cover the cost of all training fees but reserves the right to claim back some or all of the costs should you leave the company within a certain timeframe (as stipulated in your contract of employment).
* Manage inbound and outbound calls, emails and letters with insurers, policyholders, fellow professionals and industry specialists.
* Manage diary to ensure optimum use of time and resources, meeting all agreed deadlines.
* Liaise with policyholders and experts to ensure accurate and timely settlement of claims.
* Identify and assist in pursuing recoveries, and liaise with legal advisors.
* Adopt a proactive approach when managing own claim portfolio.
* Ensure customers are treated fairly in line with policy terms and conditions, abiding by all relevant legal requirements, industry guidelines and company standards.
* On occasion, opportunities may arise to join other Claims Handlers and/or Loss Adjusters on site visits across the UK.
* Actively participate in team discussions to highlight issues and promote group learning.
* Act as Mentor to less experienced Claims Handlers and Graduate Trainee Claims Handlers to assist in their professional development.
* Perform other tasks as reasonably required by CTMs or Senior Management. This may include deputising for CTMs in their absence.
Skills and Experience required:
* Minimum 5+ years experience of Claims Handling, ideally in property, motor, liability or Commercial
* Experience of IT systems including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, and experience of Claims Management Portal Systems. Training on company system will be given.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* A team player who is willing to ask questions to ensure tasks are completed effectively, and willing to assist colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Able to quickly build positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Well organised with excellent time management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

* Able to adapt to new challenges.
* Bachelors degree (required), with GCSE English Language grade 5/C or equivalent.
* Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate in Insurance (Level 3) (required).
