About the role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Buyer will play a key role in sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating construction materials, equipment, and services to support our projects and ensure seamless operations. Obtaining optimal terms and conditions, including rebates, etc., will form a key part of this role. This role will be based at our Head office in Dalry, Ayrshire.
Key roles and responsibilities include;
1. Identify, source, and procure construction materials, equipment, and services needed for ongoing and upcoming projects.
2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and agreements.
3. Collaborate with site managers, surveyors and other stakeholders to develop cost-effective procurement strategies.
4. Active participation in team meetings, end-of-contract reviews, supplier performance reviews, and site visits.
5. Assisting in the process of timely and accurate scheduling of orders and materials per site requirements, procurement tracker/programme, enabling orders to be placed on time.
