Wood is recruiting for a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to support our Operations team based at our Stockton office on contract basis for 6 months.
This role will be working on a hybrid working arrangement, 3-4 days in Stockton Office. #LI-Hybrid
The Role
Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through:
1. Executing assigned scopes of work
2. Providing discipline expertise to the business
3. Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables including complex problems. Completes almost any engineering tasks with minimal guidance and direction. May serve as the primary discipline engineer or discipline technical authority on projects with small to medium complexity

Minimum Qualifications:
4. ISCED Level 6 Bachelors (minimum) or Level 7 Masters (preferred) Degree in engineering discipline, alternatively, tertiary level education combined with suitable industry experience can be used to demonstrate equivalence
5. Chartership or relevant professional engineer status accredited by a national or industry engineering institution preferred
Minimum Experience:
6. Requires mature professional knowledge and extensive progressive experience in general
engineering.

7. Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists
8. Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during course of performing assignments
9. Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
10. Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution
11. Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
12. Technically competent in own discipline, pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge according to standards
13. Maintains own knowledge of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promotes to direct reports
14. Applies mature professional knowledge and experience to assignments where issues and factors to be considered may be characterized by unsual demands and require additional evaluation to establish the nature and scope of the problem
15. Demonstrated ability to apply advanced laws, principles, mathematics or industry knowledge in the improvement and development of designs
16. Demonstrated skills in persuasion, negotiation, motivation and communication
17. Demonstrated proficiency in project planning
18. Possess a working knowledge of the various Business Units, Functions, Sectors and services offered within business area, and general understanding of other Wood business offerings
