Job Specification Butler Rose are seeking a Quality Engineer to join one of our clients, a Plymouth based manufacturer. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, data driven, extremely flexible and tenacious, training will be provided to the right candidate. This role is ideal for an existing Production, Process, Metrology or Quality Engineer, or for an existing Technician level person to progress into a more senior position within a progressive, high technology organisation. Key Duties: To actively support the implementation, maintenance, performance and improvement of the Quality Management System by applying appropriate quality tools and techniques.To work independently and as a team member in conducting Quality Engineering activities.To work in line with Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies, Procedures and Instructions.To identify performance trends and potential and actual non-conformance in products and processes through data gathering, analysis, monitoring and auditing.Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.Decision making: To stop production, drive containment action and take corrective or preventive action. To ensure effective and timely defect management.To propose and implement robust and cost effective solutions and improvements.To carry out audits, inspections, measurements and tests in a timely and accurate manner.Clear, concise, accurate and data driven reporting of results, trends actions and progress.To develop effective relationships with other team members and departments, suppliers and customer personnel as appropriate to facilitate product and service quality.Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools for quality engineering.To provide training support and to overcome barriers to quality improvement Preferred Attributes: Minimum of 3 years experience of quality tools - 8D investigations, FMEA's, Measurement System Analysis, PPAP and SPCBTEC or equivalent level qualified (business/engineering/Science) or 3yrs relevant experienceExperience of working within a precision engineering, manufacturing, environment SALARY: £38,000 - £45,000 Butler Rose is committed to equality in the workplace and is an equal opportunity employer.Butler Rose Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
