Property Care Operative
Overview
The Property Care Operative will provide high‑quality painting, decorating, and minor DIY repairs across several designated London sites, helping to maintain consistently high standards across the portfolio.
All tools, materials, and equipment will be stored at each location, so no company vehicle is required.
The role involves following a daily site‑visit schedule (Monday-Friday) and travelling between sites as part of the normal commute.

Role Title: Property Care Operative
Location: Across three London sites - 1x Bromley, 2x Tottenham Hale
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm
Days: Monday to Friday
Annual Leave: 25 days per annum plus UK Bank HolidaysJob Requirements
Essential
Proven experience in painting, decorating, and general maintenance.
Confident using standard hand tools and equipment.
Ability to manage time effectively across multiple locations.
Understanding of basic Health & Safety requirements.
Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.Desirable
Experience in a multi‑site or facilities environment.
Basic knowledge of plumbing or electrical safety (non‑technical).
Awareness of COSHH for paints and materials.Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Carry out high‑quality painting and decorating works across multiple properties, including thorough surface preparation (cleaning, filling, sanding, priming), cutting‑in, glossing, and emulsion work, ensuring a consistently professional finish.
Complete minor DIY and general maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry repairs, adjusting fixtures and fittings, replacing worn components, patch repairs, and general upkeep.
Attend planned site visits across multiple London locations in line with a weekly schedule, managing time effectively to meet priorities at each site.
Respond to reactive maintenance requests, diagnosing issues, completing safe repairs where appropriate, and escalating more complex works to specialist contractors when required.
Conduct regular visual inspections during visits to identify maintenance issues or health and safety risks, taking prompt action where needed.
Adhere to all health and safety requirements, including safe systems of work, appropriate PPE usage, and reporting hazards or incidents.
Maintain accurate records of completed work, updating job sheets and maintenance systems, and reporting any outstanding issues.
Liaise professionally with on‑site staff and stakeholders, providing a courteous and customer‑focused service while minimising disruption.
Take responsibility for the care and use of tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring work areas are clean and safe.
Work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining high standards of workmanship, reliability, and punctuality.General Responsibilities
