EYFS Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Part Time (Mornings Only) – September 2026
TS3 Area – £444 per week (pro rata)
Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a caring and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our successful supply team and work within a primary school in the TS3 area.
This is a part-time role, working mornings only, Monday to Friday, supporting a child in Nursery on a 1:1 basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide tailored support for a child with additional needs, helping them access learning opportunities, develop social and communication skills, and engage positively within the Nursery environment.
The role will commence in September 2026 and is ongoing, with the potential to become long-term depending on the needs of the school.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is a Level 3 qualification or above in Teaching and Supporting Learning. Previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly within an EYFS setting, would be highly advantageous.
The Role
Working as part of a supportive Early Years team, the desired EYFS Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Nursery-aged child with additional needs.
Responsibilities may include:
1. Supporting the child's learning and development throughout the morning Nursery session.
2. Encouraging communication, social interaction, and engagement in learning activities.
3. Implementing strategies and interventions recommended by the school's SEND team and external professionals.
4. Assisting with personal, emotional, and behavioural needs where required.
5. Building a positive and trusting relationship with the child to support their confidence and independence.
6. Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.

Requirements
To be considered for the EYFS Teaching Assistant position, you will:
7. Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
8. Have experience working within an EYFS or primary school setting.
9. Have experience supporting children with additional needs, including autism, speech and language needs, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
10. Be confident working on a 1:1 basis and adapting support to meet individual needs.
11. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
12. Have a genuine passion for supporting young children in their early years of education.
13. Be able to work effectively as part of a wider school support team.
