Our teams are currently supporting major shipbuilding and industrial projects, including new-build vessel electrical installations, testing, and commissioning activities.
The Opportunity:
We are expanding our team in Port Glasgow and have a range of exciting opportunities for skilled Electricians and Electrical Technicians to join us. Whether your background is in marine, shipyard, or industrial environments, we have roles suited to your experience — from installation through to testing, setting to work, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Electrical installation and containment works (power, lighting, control, and data systems)
* Cable glanding, termination, and testing activities
* Setting to work and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
* Fault-finding and troubleshooting during system integration and trials
* Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
* Ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and technical standards
* Working collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and commissioning teams
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Time-served electrician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
* Proven experience in marine, shipyard, or industrial electrical work
* Competent in installation, testing, and fault-finding
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
* Strong awareness of electrical safety and compliance with regulations
* Able to work independently or as part of a team in a busy shipyard or industrial environment
Desirable:
* ECS or JIB Gold Card
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
* 2391 Testing & Inspection or equivalent
* Experience with control systems, automation, or switchboard testing
* Familiarity with commissioning procedures and documentation
* CompEx certification (advantageous but not essential)
