Our local secondary schools across St Helens-from the heart of the town to the surrounding communities of Rainford and Haydock-are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants.
In this role, you will be an essential part of the St Helens community, working closely with students who require tailored support to access the curriculum. Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting children or young adults with additional needs (SEN) or in a coaching/educational capacity.
* Strong communication, empathy, patience, and the ability to simplify complex tasks into manageable steps.
* An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).

Key Duties:
* Support learning by working with small groups or individuals to reinforce lesson objectives.
* Manage behaviour within the classroom to maintain a focused and positive environment.
* Prepare resources and set up equipment before lessons to ensure a smooth start.
* Safeguard pupils by following all school policies and child protection procedures.
* Assist the teacher with administrative tasks and the display of student work.
* Lead interventions for students requiring extra help with literacy or numeracy.
