0876 - Gynaecology Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist
An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand the Gynaecology Oncology Nursing team to meet service needs and support development. This is a full-time, fixed-term/secondment position for 12 months from the start date. We are reviewing the possibility of a more permanent expansion of the team.
We seek a highly motivated, enthusiastic nurse eager to build on the excellent work within the service. The role involves supporting patients and their loved ones, participating in quality improvement and audits, and collaborating with medical and nursing teams within Gynaecology and across the trust to deliver optimal patient care.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Gynaecology and some clinical oncology experience, with a passion for providing advice and education to patients and colleagues.
The role offers support for developing interpersonal and communication skills, as it involves sensitive conversations with patients and their families, and fostering professional relationships across secondary and primary care services.
Main duties of the job
1. Manage a clinical caseload.
2. Serve as a primary resource and specialist nursing link throughout the patient’s cancer journey.
3. Provide clinical excellence in the gynaecology cancer service, maintaining high standards of care for patients and families.
4. Support, advise, educate, and lead healthcare professionals in line with national and local guidelines, ensuring a holistic, evidence-based approach.
5. Develop links with wider MDT members within and outside the trust.
6. Ensure seamless service delivery, address issues promptly, and escalate concerns through appropriate governance processes.
7. Collaborate with the team to demonstrate the benefits of service expansion and make future service recommendations.

* Masters level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field.
* 997/998 or equivalent
* Counselling qualification
Experience
* Extensive experience at G Grade within gynaecology.
